AdiShankara was taking a lesson on "Braham Satyam, Jagat Mithya". He explained , "this world and cosmos in all its totality ,is an Illusion."
Suddenly one Elephant , in the mood of destruction , entered his Ashrama. All students along with Shankara started running to save life. Srinath Sharma, one of the naughtiest student , asked him while they were running , "If everything is illusion , even this elephant is an illusion , why are you running from an illusion?"
Adi Sankara ,the sharpest mind born in the last 2000 years replied ,"Who says I am running , my running is also an illusion" .
You need a dream gun to shoot a dream tiger, from a real gun you cannot shoot a dream tiger. All our fears, anxieties exist only in our mind . We are fearful of those things which do not exist. "The" U G Krishnamurti once said "Your wanting something that does not exist is the root of your problems."
Aaah I know , UG did not like Shankara , ohh but he did not like anyone.
Think about the things which bother you the most, you'll find that the most of them are some possible future events ,and almost all of them will never ever happen in real. Interestingly these "Non existing possible future events" make your present vulnerable.
