People who believe "Truth always wins" or "Eventually you get what you deserve" live in illusions. If you think your colleague has survived in the industry for last 15 years only by licking the boots of bosses, let me tell you that his strategy is not bad.
A simple google search will tell you that, all the great companies or empires in the human history were never 100% ethical. Morality is an exaggerated concept. It is spread by the people who are sitting at the Top and does not want others to reach there. That's why they create fear of immorality in the heart of ambitious human species. In other cases, it is a hyped concept for the losers to justify their losses.
Companies employing 4000 people but polluting the environment, do we do anything significant to them in any developing nation? No, we need them, that's why ethics go to the backseat.Morality and ethics are subjective, changes society to society & Individual to Individual.
How many Indian companies do Ethical Hiring? Don't only they hire people with references?Do they have any system to judge true capability? Stop telling your current CTC & Designation to Recruiters,99% of them will not have any clue about Where do you exactly fit?
