Perception sucks (21-May-2018)

"#India is becoming #Pakistan"

this used to be my first thought whenever I used to visit #Muslim dominating areas. The reason was Pakistani Flags. I would always find Pakistani flags in those areas. I was mature enough to not to judge whole community, but it remained a concern until I reached the truth.

Those flags were never Pakistani flags, those flags are simply Islamic flags like Hindus have saffron flags. Those flags have religious value rather love for an "enemy" nation. Pakistan's flag has an additional white portion attached to it where Islamic flag is all green. I regretted for a decent time for my foolishness.

Often we judge people for all the wrong reasons because we are lazy to reason and analyse the facts presented to us and in hurry to have a perception. Heard of gestalt psychology? The mind forms a global whole with self-organizing tendencies.

#Perception is such an overrated word. "Sabke apne Nazriye hote hain cheezon ke dekhne ke" has become a central philosophy of Pseudo-intellectuals. Why can't I live without having a perception of "everything".

Do you have a perception of "How this universe came into existence"? Whatever is your perception, believe me, its wrong. I feel amazed about the universe but without having any Perception.

Corporate Democracy (15-May-2018)

Corporate Democracy

1) Is when a German MNC makes the country head for India, a Non-German. 2) Is when the Sales Director stops recruiting his Juniors only from his own MBA College. 3) Is when Men employees along with Women employees are also allowed to leave at 6 PM dot. 4) Is when reference wala and non-reference wala candidates are tested and Marked on a similar scale. 5) Is when people are not given proper Increments only when they resign. 6) Is when People are not punished for Non-performance but they are rewarded for Good Performance. 7) Is when Interviewers don't torture candidates by showing off what they know themselves but try to learn what they don't know. Most of us, for whole life, work with 'racist' billion dollars organizations & with fancily designated "racist' colleagues, interestingly without realizing or sometimes get benefitted because of it. Very early in my life, I learned the most important chapter of my Life, "Perfect world does not exist" but that does not mean that we should not try to make this world a better place to live. A better place for the people, the people who are not yet born. In Democracy, People are in its center, and if we keep money aside they are all equal. At least in theory. Anupam S Shlok #Anupamism

Woking 9 to 5 is a sin? (13-May-2018)

Oh #Entrepreneurs of Linkedin, we love to read your success story. We love to know about challenges you faced while chasing your dreams.I genuinely appreciate that you want others to follow what they love. But I don't understand you continuously challenging most of the population. The population which works 9 to 5 to achieve GDP targets of this nation. Sub-text of all of your posts is "You all fools are wasting your time by working for someone, be an Entrepreneur, that should be a dream of everyone." "Bhai, why & how would you decide our dreams?" Yes, we dream, we dream to work hard, we dream to work with fortune 500 companies or make current organization Fortune 500. Is it a sin to not to think of owning a #Fortune500? Entrepreneurship requires guts and funds. Perhaps some of us don't have those 'traits' Perhaps our childhood dream was "Make others rich", heard of Kingmaker "Chanakya"? "Dreams are never Superior or Inferior. Dreams are Dreams. Someone has capital, other has ideas but execution happens when 9 to 5 class works. Don't embarrass them because you were embarrassed when you used to work 9 to 5. That's your failure as an employee. #Microsoft is a success story of Bill Gates as well as the employee they recruited last Friday. Anupam S Shlok #Anupamism

Clash of Ideologies (11-May-2018)

#1 Will you vote for Modi"? My ex-girlfriend asked me a moment before becoming my Ex" "Aah. I think so" I answered "Ok" its over. She broke up just because I am convinced with a political ideology which she does not 'Like' #2 "If you need your due promotion, stop cheering for CSK and follow Mumbai Indians" boss set up the terms. "I would rather resign but whistle podu is part of my identity" a loyal CSK Fan proudly said. He is jobless from last one year. I found him buying "I love Dhoni" T-shirt, yesterday #3 "Convert to our Religion or die" "Kill me before I kill myself" We, humans, are hungry of associations, we love to identify with a set of beliefs. These beliefs are neither Wrong nor Right, these are just beliefs, a medium of association. The biggest loss of any homo sapiens is when someone takes away that belief from you. How much we happily ready to sacrifice for the things we believe? Imagine, we pretend to agree with the people just to make them feel good. How would anyone know if I am voting for Modi or RaGa? Why do I lose my relationships to wear my ideological beliefs on my sleeves? I hate milk because I consider Dairy industry unethical but whenever I am at home, I happily have it, that's what my mom likes. Anupam S Shlok #Anupamism

Humanity is Hungry(8-May-2018)

Let me tell you a joke.

Early morning, in a rural village of an African country, a wife is whispering to her husband "Did you just see our neighbour? Has she gained some weight? Oh my god. How is she getting this much of Food"?

I heard this joke from some stand-up comedian, perhaps some TV program or Youtube.

I did not know how to react. A bit of 'me' died the moment I started thinking about it again & again. Imagine you cut a lemon with a sharp knife and from the same knife, without cleaning it, you cut an apple. Take a bite of that apple. How would you define the taste?

Yes, this "joke" is a slap on Humanity, we have failed miserably in making this world a just place. 35% Americans are obese. Have you heard of Haiti, where 75% population live on less than 2 dollars per day, where children are surviving on one meal per day?

Have you planned to give a Diamond to your wife on her birthday? Believe me, Diamonds are nothing but a Marketing gimmick. Do you want to have something which is "Forever"? Postpone your idea to buy a diamond, rather in a small % of that money, feed any two hungry kids every day for a year, see them smiling. I promise you that this smile will remain with you forever, and your Wife will be Proud of you :-)

I wanted to become God(04-05-2018)

I was a "highly educated schoolboy" I read four Vedas for the first time when I was in 7th Standard, obviously, epics, some Puranas, etc. came earlier. I simply loved the philosophical inquiries of any kind. And in those "Confused" days, those uncles would ask me "Beta bade hoke kya banoge"?(What do you want to become when you grow up) I had no clue, but I knew they wanted to hear something which should look like an achievement. And eventually, I had an answer, an answer which gave me a sense of achievement, fulfillness & completeness. "Uncle, main bada hoke Bhagwaan banna chahta hun" (When I grow up, I want to become God) I still don't know how to become God, or rather it is possible. Believe me, whatever you do in your life, this sense of incompleteness will remain there, not because you haven't achieved anything significant but because it is not possible to achieve that "completeness", we humans are simply not capable, be him the richest man ever or strongest.  Now, when I think of giving answer again to those uncles, my answer would be "I don't think of becoming anyone, but whatever I'll be doing, I'll give my 100%. Will enjoy all the pains & pleasures attached to it. I don't know what I'll become, but I will definitely GROW." Anupam S Shlok #Anupamism #WhenIwas15

Anupam, You are different (20-Apr-2018)

"Hey, are you this Linkedin Guy, Anupam Shlok" there was this beautiful young lady peeping into my phone asked me this while I was in Metro & on Linkedin yesterday. "I think so" I fumbled while thinking about some better way to reply. "We are connected on Linkedin & its fun to read you.You think very differently." "Thanks" was the only thing I could say while analyzing "Different" means good or bad. It was 2009.I was on a train somewhere near Rampur going back to my hometown from Delhi with my elder brother. There was this young chap came & sat next to me & started smiling. We had no extra space on a seat of three. "Can I help you with something?" I asked him awkwardly. "Ain't you the same guy who played "that Bengali guy in Kurta" in "Holi" theatrical play at SRC yesterday. "I think so" was my answer. "It was fun watching that play, you were different" He was still smiling while saying this. "Different" ? You know what, certain moments are not to analyze, they are just to Live.Isn't this a great moment when strangers recognize you for whatever crap you do for your own satisfaction.I don't want to be a motivational speaker or a Life coach,I don't seek business from you. I do what I actually love to do "to Write", who cares if anyone is reading. Anupam S Shlok #Anupamism

Learnings from Life (28 April 2018)

Half of my Life , I was struggling to gain weight and now I struggle to lose some. Half of my life, I was trying to look a bit mature and now I try to look younger. Half of my life, I wanted a lot of girlfriends, now I avoid my fiancee as well. Half of my life, I was propagating Atheism, now I spread "God is everywhere" Half of my Life, "Ambitions" were everything for me, Now I would sacrifice anything for family. Half of my life I was running behind "Money", now I look for "Peace" Half of my life I believed, people don't change, now I know they change every moment. Half of my Life I liked Chetan Bhagat, now I love Ramdhari Singh Dinkar. Half of my Life I was mad about "Sholay" Now I prefer "Ardhasatya". Am I suffering from the Midlife crisis at 30 or its enlightenment? #JustThinking Anupam S Shlok #Anupamism

Grey Side of Good and Bad(1st May 2018)

MS #Dhoni the greatest finisher has also miscalculated pace of innings countless times, remember 54 in 114 last year West Indies ? #Amitabh Bachchan , greatest actor, also did "Boom", remember? Hemant Karkare a Hero, is a villain for Left. Colonel Purohit's family. #Reliance ,one of the greatest success story from India is considered most unethical by many. If you identify some people with good and some with bad, believe me, you don't know these people thoroughly. Mother #teresa, was more of a social worker or more of a missionary? We got Independence by "#Ahimsa" or we were brainwashed to remain "Ahimsavaadi" so rulers keep ruling us. Otherwise wasn't it impossible to rule a huge "Bhagat Singh way" of the nation. Nothing is certain in this uncertain world. What you think is a surety is just a possibility, out of 1000 other possibilities. We all have different faces for different people in different situations. Truth & False, Good & Bad are not completely separated from each other, they are weaved together. There is a bit of Bad in Good and bit of Good in Bad. Believe me, you were not born to identify goodness or badness. You are born to live, simply live, without prejudices, without any bias, bias you have created by some uncertain information. Anupam S Shlok #Anupamism
